VISION Support, the regional charity which provides support and services locally to people with a visual impairment in Wrexham, is appealing for some additional daredevil volunteers to support a fundraising event.

A number of the charity’s members, volunteers and staff have already agreed to take part in a 50-metre abseil down the outside of the Mersey Tunnels Ventilation Shaft in Birkenhead on Sunday, September 7, but there are still places available if anyone would like to join them.

Event co-ordinator Michael Fair said: “We have 15 places reserved for this unique challenge and to date 12 brave souls have committed to support us. So we are looking for three more daredevils to ensure we maximise our fundraising.

“This is a great opportunity for people to try something a bit unusual and at the same time raise some money which will be used locally to improve the lives of those in Wrexham who have to live with sight loss daily.”

If you would like to take part in the sponsored event, which is being organised professionally by Adventure Challenge Events, or would like to contribute to the fundraising then contact Michael on 01244 381515 or send an e-mail to mfair@visionsupport.org.uk.
