More than 250 people turned out to support the National Play Day event on Bunbury Green, Stanney Grange, which was organised by the Cheshire West and Chester Development team.

‘Risky Play’ was the theme of the event, which was held on August 11, and young people from the area, along with a large number of parents, took advantage of what was on offer.

The variety of fun activities which were enjoyed by the locals included a water slide, bucking bronco, climbing wall, arts and crafts stall and bongo drums.

Many of these activities were a new experience for most but, despite the weather – which improved slightly as the day went on – the activities kept spirits high.

Joining in the fun was the Our Place team and representatives of the Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire teams and the Community Safety Wardens.
