TURF from the Welsh rugby union victory over England at the Millennium Stadium has been snapped up by Hallmark Healthcare for four of its care homes in Wrexham after being put on sale in aid of charity.
The purchase was made by the group's managing director Avnish Goyal, who runs nine care homes across Wales in Wrexham, Cardiff, Ponty-pridd, Caldicot, Maesteg and Ammanford.
The plots, from the ground on which Gareth Thomas's team enjoyed an 11-9 victory, are being sold in aid of the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation.
Goyal said: 'I was thrilled when I found out that we could buy a piece of the turf from Saturday's game for the homes. Many of the staff and the residents are huge rugby fans. It will be like having a piece of Welsh history in the back garden!'
