LIFE is anything but humdrum for Lucky the piglet, or should we say reindeer?

The cheerful little trotter had to be hand- reared after being rejected by her mum at Arley’s Stockley Farm and has now been given a whole new lease of life as Santa’s four-legged helper.

Without a reindeer to call on to pull the sledge farm, workers decided to pack the little pig off to reindeer school to learn the etiquette required. Now Lucky is the star turn in the farmyard grotto, helping Santa welcome children to the farm.

A farm spokeswoman said: ‘Lucky has her own sleigh with an L plate on and a little set of antlers. She loves all the attention and the children love her.’

The farm is open to the public every weekend until December 23. For details, visit
