UNDER-FIRE MP Hazel Blears made a surprise visit to the Thundersprint rally in Northwich on Sunday.

The Communities Secretary has been pilloried by the Court of Public Opinion for milking the Commons allowances to the full.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown is under pressure to sack her after it was disclosed that she "flipped" her second home address three times in one year.

That allowed her to buy goods for all the properties at taxpayers’s expense.

The Daily Telegraph also disclosed she had avoided paying Capital Gains Tax on the sale of one property she had designated as a second home with the Commons - by telling HM Revenue and Customs that it was her primary residence.

She made £45,000 on the deal - and would have been liable for an 18% CGT bill if it was her second home - as she had told the Commons.

Petrolhead Miss Blears insists she has not broken any rules. She told the Telegraph: "I have complied with the rules of the House, the rules of the Inland Revenue - and that’s the situation as it is."
