EVER fancied taking a pot-shot at your local MP?

Tomorrow (Friday) Wrexham MP Ian Lucas is challenging people to take their best shot at him in a penalty shoot-out.

Mr Lucas is raising money for BBC Children in Need by offering to pay £1 for every shot that goes past him - but every shot he saves will cost the penalty taker £1.

Local youngsters are already signed up to take part but anyone else who wishes to come along is welcome.

'I am always pleased to do my bit for Children in Need,' he said.

'People often enjoy taking shots at politicians and I thought that I should give them the chance to take one at me!

'I am a keen football fan, and follow Wrexham FC locally and also Sunderland FC, as I was born in the North East.

'I also play five-a-side football with colleagues in Westminster so am hoping that my experience will stand me in good stead when it comes to this event.'

The penalty shoot-out will take place at NEWI between 4pm and 5pm. Anyone wishing to take part in the event should contact Mr Lucas beforehand on 01978 355743.
