A FORMER switchboard supervisor will be battling it out to become Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) of the Year in the UNISON-sponsored category at the Jane Police Review’s Annual Gala Awards.
Sarah O’Flanagan, from Merseyside Police, will go up against other PCSOs from regions across the UK.
The 34-year-old, who lives in Little Neston, was a member of the police staff for 14 years and has won three commendations in her career.
The UNISON member, whose father worked in the police for 30 years, said: “I like working with the public and I have found it better to give a good service face- to-face, as a PCSO, rather than dealing with problems over the phone.
“I have always gone out of my way to help people.
