ROSSMORE Primary School went back in time to celebrate its 40th birthday.

Staff and pupils have been re-enacting lessons from the 1960s as well as researching the school’s history and recalling experiences of Nitty Nora the ‘nit nurse.’

And to mark the milestone in style the school held a reunion party with a 60s and 70s theme, welcoming former staff, governors and pupils.

Headteacher Sue Davis-McCoy said: ‘We had a fabulous evening with musical entertainment and prizes.

‘I would like to personally thank Audrey Willsher (a former headteacher) for her extremely generous donation.

‘Thanks also to Flashback and JayDee’s Disco for the music, along with Groovy Joes sounds for the children, Nando’s, Vue Cinema, Burleydam Nureries, Chiquitos, Tots-2-Teens (Bit Box Celebrations), Asda, Debinair and Tenpin Bowling for their wonderful donations.

‘I would also like to express my appreciation to the staff and parents for all their help, support and time.’
