Pupils and staff at Parklands Community Primary School are celebrating after the school’s recent success in the Cheshire West and Chester Schools in Bloom competition.

Parklands was awarded a silver award in recognition of the work that members of Gardening Club have put in to developing the school garden.

Children have planted a variety of crops and transformed the plot over the last year, attending the club which takes place after school.

Headteacher Ros Flanders said: “I am very proud of the effort and dedication that the members of the gardening club have invested. Their commitment and enthusiasm has given the school a garden to be proud of.”

Work on the school garden in continuing this year with children working on the theme of the world, planting a variety of different fruit and vegetables which will be harvested later in the school year.
