RANGERS at Wrexham Countryside Service are thrilled a new addition to their outside education programme is proving a huge hit.

The programme began at Plas Power Woods in November and Brena John, ranger at Nant Mill, said: 'Penygelli School in Coedpoeth was the first school to benefit from this wonderful experience. For many children the outdoors is their preferred environment, and fresh air and vigorous activity are essential for children's overall health and wellbeing.

'There are opportunities for them to become more confident and meet new challenges, as well as developing a deeper understanding of the natural world and realising that they can have an effect on their environment. We have lots of fun too, playing games, building shelters and getting very wet and muddy!'
