AN EXHIBITION of iconic sporting images is helping to bring the Olympic spirit to Ellesmere Port.

West Cheshire College is currently displaying the complete set of official summer and winter posters from the Olympic Foundation in Lausanne.

Members of the public are invited to view the collection, which includes designs by renowned artists Robert Rauschenberg and Ludwig Hohlwein.

College vice principal Helen Nellist said: “The posters are being exhibited in a variety of locations and we are honoured that the college has had the opportunity to display these historic items here in Ellesmere Port.

“I would recommend the exhibition to any sport, art and history fans or just anybody who is looking forward to the Olympics coming to London.”

The exhibition will run at the Ellesmere Port Campus, off Sutton Way, until Friday, May 11.

The college will also host a lecture on the ‘Art of the Olympics’ on June 7 at the Grosvenor Museum, Chester by Adrian Sumner, creative economy officer of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s art and festivals team.
