MANCHESTER Britpop pioneers Oasis and Vegas glam-rockers The Killers will perform at this summer’s V Festival.

Tickets for the 14th annual event, held jointly at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire, on August 22-23 are already on sale.

Also on the bill are Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Fatboy Slim, Keane, The Specials, Elbow, as well as V Festival virgins such as Pendulum, The Ting Tings, MGMT and Lady Ga Ga.

The Virgin Media Union Stage will host performances from Bohemian songsmith Pete Doherty and a host of other exciting acts.

Bob Angus, festival director, said: “We’re genuinely thrilled to have such an eclectic line-up this year.Š

“Our headliners, The Killers and Oasis, are two of the biggest acts in music today and, with them being joined by some really exuberant newcomers, this summer’s V Festival will give festival fans something to shout about.”

Other acts already confirmed to perform at the event include James, Lilly Allen, The Enemy, The Script, Biffy Clyro, Paolo Nutini, Katy Perry, The Wombats, James Morrison, The Streets, Dizzee Rascal, Happy Mondays, Seasick Steve, Ocean Colour Scene and The Saturdays.

The organisers of V are urging fans to buy tickets from official outlets only.

Prices are £152.50 for weekend passes with camping, £132.50 for weekend pass without camping and £73.50 for day tickets.
