A MAN who went on the rampage in a housing office has been issued with Wirral's first Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Order.

Patrick Duggan, 56, from Ladyfield, Beechwood, was arrested last year after threatening a member of staff with a screwdriver.

He had also ripped down information about his daughter's eviction from a council house on the Beechwood estate and had tried to dismantle the board.

Duggan was charged with a public order offence and found guilty earlier this month. He was given the CRASBO when he was sentenced.

The order is the same as an ASBO but is issued by the court during a criminal case instead of being applied for by the council or police.

Caroline Laing, manager of Wirral's Anti-Social Behaviour Team, said: "The order allows the council to ensure that its staff are adequately protected from Duggan's abusive and threatening behaviour. We are very pleased that the courts have supported the council's efforts and would like to thank the Crown Prosecution Service for their support in this matter".

Duggan is banned from entering the housing department's head office at Westminster House, any housing office or One-Stop Shop without prior written approval.
