A SIR John Deane’s College student has won a coveted science award at a ceremony in London.
Emma Taylor was awarded the Research Council’s UK Laboratory Experience Prize at The Big Bang Fair, which celebrates young people’s achievements in science and engineering.
The prize means she has the opportunity to go behind the scenes at one of RCUK’s laboratories and talk to scientists working on new and advanced research.
Emma worked with Neston student Michael Aspinall during the two-day fair, which 200 students aged 11-19 attended, competing for numerous prizes.
The duo’s winning project was ‘Low cost solar water heaters suitable for developing markets’, which they carried out with Unilever R&D.
