SCHOOLGIRL singing sensation Paige Phillips is making her national TV debut - at the age of 11.

The County High School, Leftwich pupil proved she’s got the X-Factor with an impressive performance on new BBC One talent show Tonight’s The Night alongside her idol, Strictly Come Dancing star Alesha Dixon.

Paige stunned the former Mis-Teeq singer with her video audition, and the pair performed Alesha’s Top 10 hit The Boy Does Nothing together in front of a live studio audience.

The show, hosted by Torchwood actor John Barrowman, will be broadcast next Saturday, May 9.

It combines show-stopping acts by an array of artists with once-in-a-lifetime performances, allowing ordinary people live out their performing fantasies for one night only.

Mum Rebekah Phillips said: “The audience was amazed, cheering and singing along and was rapturous when the performance finished.

“The BBC made Paige’s dreams come true. Her voice is amazing and her smile will melt your heart. She is so natural, charming and doesn’t realise how good she really is.”

Rebekah put Paige forward in December but heard nothing until the start of April, when she was asked to send a video of her daughter performing in a talent competition.

Impressed producers then sent BBC camera crews to the family’s Kingsmead home to film a karaoke party hosted by Paige for her friends.

And halfway through singing an Alesha hit, Paige was stunned to see her favourite star pop up on the screen and tell her they would be performing live together!

“When paige performed with Alesha her eyes lit up like shooting stars,” host John Barrowman told The Chronicle. “And she proved the has the capability and talent to fulfil her dream.”
