POLICE in Northwich are calling on shoppers to play their cards right when paying for goods.
There have been two recent incidents in the town centre where criminals have looked over the shoulder of shoppers as they entered their pin number and then managed to steal the bank card – usually by distracting people.
The offenders have then gone on to take money from the accounts.
PCSO Mark Abbott said: “It is crucial that people are careful when inputting their pin number into a machine at a shop or at the cash machine.
“Criminals are adapting their methods to gain access to bank accounts and these latest offences are an example of the lengths they will go to.”
