POLICE in Northwich are belatedly appealing for witnesses to a vicious assault which left a 21-year-old woman scarred for life.

The victim was repeatedly hit in the face with a stiletto and has been left with permanent scars.

She was viciously attacked in Northwich town centre in the early hours of Saturday, April 11.

But a witness appeal for only launched on May 12 after officers investigating the case decided they needed more witnesses to come forward.

A spokeswoman said: “Police arrested a female shortly after the incident. However we believe there are others involved, and there are vital witnesses with whom we need to speak.”

She continued: “At around 2am on Saturday, April 11 the victim was assaulted by up to three other females on the market car park in Northwich.

“The victim received serious facial injuries when she was hit in the face with a stiletto shoe.

“An 18-year-old local woman was arrested after the incident and remains on police bail until May 22.”
