HOMELESS people in Chester are benefiting from a weekly donation of bread from Northwich-based Roberts Bakery.

Each week the bakery delivers about 100 free loaves of bread to be used by CATH (Chester Aid to the Homeless) clients.

CATH chief executive Robert Bisset said: “We’re exceptionally grateful to the bakery for their generosity.

“We currently have around 54 clients in hostel and move-on accommodation, plus in excess of 500 people using our day centre, so this is a welcome gift.”

Mike Roberts, of Roberts Bakery, said: “We are always delighted when we are able to help out worthwhile local causes and events.

“If we can deliver a little bit of enjoyment to some of Chester’s homeless people, then that’s brilliant.

“The people at CATH do a fantastic job and we are proud to support them.” Š
