FAMILIES across England are to get help to keep their children safe.
They will also receive access to vital equipment, such as safety gates and fireguards, to help prevent accidents in the home, says Children’s Minister Delyth Morgan.
The Government has given £18m to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents to run the ‘Safe at Home’ scheme until March 2011.
It will be delivered through local councils and Primary Care Trusts.
RoSPA-trained staff will make home visits to assess individual family needs before tailoring a package of equipment and practical home safety advice.
