NOMINATIONS are open for the Young Good Citizens Awards, celebrating the achievements of the region’s children and young people.

The awards, run by Cheshire West and Chester Council, recognise those aged between eight and 18 who make a contribution to their community.

The successful candidates and a parent or guardian will be invited to a garden party and presentation hosted by council chairman Eleanor Johnson at Castle Park, Frodsham, on May 12.

Nominations should include the name and age of the nominee, a brief outline of why they are a good citizen and the name and contact details of their parent or guardian, together with those of the person nominating.

They should be sent by post to Sonja Booth, Democratic Services, CWaC, 5th Floor, HQ, Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NP or emailed to sonja.booth@cheshire westandchester.gov.uk.

Nominations must be received by 5pm on Monday, April 2.
