A SPECIAL event is being planned to recognise outstanding members of the Neston community.
The ‘Celebrating Youth and Community Achievement Awards’ are centred on Neston, Parkgate, Burton, Ness, Little Ness, Riverside and Willaston.
Winners will receive their awards at an event staged at Neston High School at 7pm on Wednesday, June 30.
The evening is hosted by Cheshire West and Chester Council and partners including Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Steve Kent, director for community and environment services, said: “This is the first time that such an awards ceremony has taken place in the area and I am sure it will be the first of many.
“The awards evening gives us the opportunity to thank members of the community who are already making a positive contribution and celebrate their achievements.”
Gavin Butler, head of community safety, added: “The partnership is looking for outstanding members of the community to be recognised in a variety of categories under the Safer, Stronger Event banner.”
