CONNAH’S Quay Nomads manager Jim Hackett is looking to front runners John McAllister and Stuart White to produce the goals that could extend the Deesiders unbeaten run at Haverfordwest today.

“We only drew 1-1 at home to Newtown last week but hit the woodwork four times during the game,” he said.

“What we need to start doing is hitting the back of the net and converting strong performances into victories.”

With his star striker Adam Dickinson out injured until late October, Hackett will again rely on McAllister and White to deliver.

“We have started the season well enough but have dropped to sixth place and need to develop that killer touch to finish sides off.” he said.

Nomads have always experienced tight encounters with Haverfordwest, who are currently one point ahead of them in fourth place in the Welsh Premier with three wins out of four.

Added Hackett: “They will be eyeing us up for another win on their own ground but we have shown ourselves to be strong at the back.

“We can make it difficult for them with Chris Williams, Gary Pinch and Alan Glover all looking solid in front of keeper Paul Pritchard.”

Mark Cadwallader, who came off against Newtown in a tactical switch, is set to return for Nomads, while Haverfordwest have moved to sign up talented midfielder Tom Ramasut from Carmarthen Town.

Said Hackett: “Ramasut has scored more than once against Nomads over the years I’ve been told, so he is someone we will need to look out for.

“We finished 0-0 there this time last season in a game we might have won, so let’s hope we are able to put that right this time.”
