EUROPEAN hopefuls Connah’s Quay Nomads welcome back key pair Adam Dickinson and Craig Hutchinson as they look to extend their unbeaten run against Port Talbot in today’s tricky test at the Remax Stadium.

After salvaging a disappointing 2-2 draw in their sub-standard showing against bottom club Cwmbran Town last Saturday, Nomads now find themselves five points adrift of third-placed Welshpool as the chase for European places heats up.

“We’ve managed three wins and three draws against them (Port Talbot) in our last six visits there and we could certainly do with maintaining that record on this occasion,” said Nomads manager Neville Powell.

Powell added: “We always knew it would be a tight finish as the contenders started coming up against each other at this important period of the season, and so it’s proving.

“We can’t afford any slip-ups after dropping two home points last week and the lads realise we have to deliver if we are to achieve our target of Europe next season.”

The inclusion of top scorer Dickinson and Hutchinson is a tonic for the Deesiders, but versatile Gary Lovell remains sidelined after suffering a set-back with his hamstring troubles.

Powell said: “With a visit to Porthmadog coming up next Tuesday these are two critical away games and we must aim to collect six points to keep us in the hunt.”
