CHRIS WILLIAMS got the chance to impress a Football League club this week with a short trial at Millwall.

The Connah’s Quay Nomads centre-back, known as Bungle, spent the first half of the week training with the Lions’ first team.

Nomads boss Jim Hackett, who spent the back end of last season working in a scouting capacity for the League One outfit, said: “I was contacted by chief scout Pat Holland three weeks ago enquiring about Bungle.

“This week was seen as an ideal time for him to go, the idea being for them to look at him as a possible future signing and him to look at the level of League One footballers and set his own playing standards based on what he saw.”

Meanwhile, Cymru Alliance club Llandudno this week learned their home Welsh Cup clash against Newi Cefn Druids on October 6 is to be televised.

The second-round clash will be the feature game on S4C’s Y Clwb Pel Droed programme, with the draw for the next round made from Maesdu Park at the end of the show.
