Newton Primary School’s Year 5 enjoyed an action-packed visit to the historic town of Conwy.

As part of their medieval history topic they visited Plas Mawr, a Tudor house, and Conwy Castle.

In the morning, the children  toured different rooms of Plas  Mawr, finding out about the original owners and how they lived.

They viewed rooms that had been authentically furnished to create a clear picture of how the Tudors cooked, ate, slept and entertained.

Lunch ended with a group photograph in front of ‘the smallest house in Britain’ which was only barely visible in the background.

During the afternoon the children stormed Conwy Castle to research why it was built and its historical importance.
