A NEW Tesco Express store opening in Ellesmere Port this weekend will celebrate its launch with a donation to a primary school.

Brookside Primary School headteacher Michael Rodgers will be the guest of honour when the store opens on Friday on Sutton Way, Great Sutton, and will be cutting the ribbon to declare it officially open.

Tesco Express store manager Richie Hatton and his team will present Mr Rodgers with a cheque for £500 as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.

Mr Hatton said: “We are delighted to be able to support Brookside Primary School.

“We are really pleased that Mr Rodgers is coming to launch the new store and join in the celebrations with us.

“My team and I are looking forward to welcoming our customers into the new store and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community.”

The doors of the store will open for the first time at 8am on Friday, with the official opening ceremony and cheque presentation taking place at 10.30am.

Store opening hours will be seven days a week from 6am until 11pm.

And the store will also feature a cash machine, top-up in-store facility, National Lottery counter, bakery, beers, wines and spirits.
