THE community centre at Sydallt has reopened after refurbishment.
The building has been fitted with a new kitchen, the lounge has been equipped as a health surgery and the main hall has been redecorated and storage has been improved.
Sydallt Community Centre was formerly know as Cefn-y-Bedd Community Centre but has been renamed to reflect the location and the refurbishment work.
Local groups will find a much-improved centre able to cater for meetings parties and celebrations.
Cllr Michael Williams said: “I encourage groups and individuals to use the centre. It is a much better local facility following this refurbishment.”
The project was undertaken as part of the Village Halls Strategy supported by Northern Marches Cymru and Wrexham County Borough Council as part of Leader+, a European funded programme which promotes the development of rural areas by encouraging innovative strategies for sustainable development.
The Leader+ programme is managed by the Welsh Assembly Government.
The match-funding for the project was provided by Gwersyllt Community Council and the work was carried out by Wrexham County Borough Council.
