RESIDENTS on Winsford’s Grange Estate are reaping the benefits of a major investment by Weaver Vale Housing Trust (WVHT) to help improve communal areas.

The Trust began work on painting and developing the entrances and stairways to flats in March 2008, and to date almost £400,000 has been invested in the project, which is ongoing.

Resident Kathleen Ollier said: “It is a 100% improvement on how it used to be. When the Trust said it was going to do the improvements it was like a breath of fresh air.

“It is part of our home at the end of the day so it is lovely to have a proper entrance hall now for when we have guests and friends over.”

Neil Corbin, neighbourhood development officer for WVHT, said: “The feedback we have received from our customers about the improvements has been really positive.”
