THE first residents have now moved into the multi-million pound Hazlemere ‘extra care village’ in Winsford.
The development is the fourth of five new sites in Avantage’s £65m scheme to open its doors. Facilities at the retirement centre include an IT suite, hairdresser, library, gym and ‘village hall’.
Hazlemere, on Hambleton Way, contains 106 extra care apartments available for Mid Cheshire residents over the age of 60 to buy, part-buy or rent.
Claire Henning, sales manager from Avantage, said: “We were excited to see the first of our residents move into Hazlemere, and it will be interesting to hear how they enjoy living at the development over the coming months.
“With on-site support if needed, and a great social calendar to look forward to, I am sure the residents will thrive on the new way of life which Avantage has to offer.”
‘Extra care’ housing offers safe and secure accommodation for people aged over 60, and provides additional support if required, such as access to 24-hour on-call staff.
The concept helps older people live independently in their own homes, with varying levels of support adapted to their individual circumstances.
