COUNCIL leaders have today raised a glass as the £6.9million state-of-the-art Westfields HQ was officially opened.
The ceremony was officiated by Sir Simon Milton chairman of the Local Government Association and leader of Westminster City Council.
A plaque to mark the occasion was placed in the building’s foyer and visitors were taken on a guided tour of the building.
Sir Simon said: “Congleton Borough Council’s new offices have enabled the authority to quite literally open its doors to local people. Residents can now get fully involved with council projects and community groups can make the most of all the new facilities.”
The environmentally friendly building features a rainwater harvesting tank and solar-powered hot water.
