A PUB restaurant in Neston has launched a hunt for people who give their all to support future sporting talent.
The Hinderton Arms, on Chester High Road, is offering a £1,000 prize to a true ‘Champion of Champions’.
The pub, part of the Chef & Brewer chain, is looking for people to nominate proud parents who put their children first, a colleague that is always going the extra mile or a committed coach in the community.
The pub has even teamed up with Elaine Petch, mother of Olympic medal-winning gymnast Louis Smith, in a bid to recognise and reward the time, effort and money that people such as Elaine dedicate to support other people’s sporting dreams.
One overall winner, as voted by a panel of judges including Elaine, will win £1,000 cash and the person who nominated them will win a party for 10 at Chef & Brewer.
Eric Blakemore, general manager at the Hinderton Arms, said: “We know there are plenty of people in the local community who go out of their way to help others in sport but we need local people to tell us about them. It might be a parent who drives hundreds of miles to take their kids to training, or someone who has spent their whole life running a local sports club.
“Research has shown us that many families fit their evening and weekends around children’s sporting pursuits, but it’s important to make time for family occasions too, whether it’s for a day out or a traditional pub lunch. That’s why we’re looking to give something back to someone who always puts others first.”
