STANNEY Fields Park in Neston has retained its Green Flag status.
This award is the national benchmark for parks and public spaces.
Stanney Fields has fulfilled the judging criteria and was found to be “safe, welcoming and well maintained”.
The park has its own on site gardener, an active Friends group and a regular programme of events including sports coaching sessions, annual fun day and dog show.
A record 742 green spaces across the country, all freely accessible to the public, have received a Green Flag Award.
Mary Lavery, the borough council’s parks development officer, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have retained this award it’s been a great team effort. We will soon be starting preparations to submit our second application for Whitby Park in 2009.”
