NESTON High School students had something special to celebrate last week when their French exchange partners arrived for their annual visit.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the school’s popular exchange programme with the Collège Louis Pasteur, Graulhet, France.

To celebrate the occasion, past and present teachers, parents and pupils were invited to a reception hosted by Neston mayor Martin Barker.

The mayor presented commemorative plaques to Neston High School and Collège Louis Pasteur and medals to the students taking part.

Cllr Barker said: “It was a pleasure to be of assistance in hosting the 20th anniversary of the French exchange celebration and to present the plaques and medals to Neston High School and the Louis Pasteur College on behalf of Neston Town Council. The evening was most enjoyable and I hope you get to celebrate another 20 years.”

French visitors were treated to a tour of Chester and a trip to Cheshire Oaks.

The exchange also offers Neston students a chance to visit Graulhet, where they are able to experience everyday life in France, live with a French family and put their language skills to the test.
