NESTON Ecumenical Singers present their 2011 Easter concert on Saturday, April 16.

The concert will feature Stainer’s Crucifixion and Bob Chilcott's Little Jazz Mass and starts at 7.30pm in Neston Parish Church.

Musical director Will Hay is a talented musician and teacher who has inspired members to sing classical compositions including Vivaldi’s Gloria, Fauré's Requiem, anthems and works by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Rutter and many others.

The April 16 concert marks the Singers’ 30th anniversary and they are performing Stainer’s The Crucifixion as tribute to the founding of the group in 1981, by Tony Davies, as a way of bringing the various denominational congregations in the area together for Easter.

The singers will also be performing a modern composition by Bob Chilcott, A Little Jazz Mass, first performed in New Orleans in June 2000.

Tickets are £6.50, available at the door. Visit www.nestonecumenicalsingers.org.uk for more details.
