BANGOR City, stylish 5-1 winners when last at home against Newi Cefn Druids 10 days ago, have got to reaffirm that fortress Farrar Road mentality according to their boss.

Ahead of a potential banana-skin encounter with second-from-bottom Caersws today, manager Nev Powell said: “We must develop the habit of producing our best form and best results in front of our own fans.

“What we then pick up on our travels can be regarded as a bonus.”

Powell added: “We have three home games coming up in the next eight days, two of them cup ties – against Aberystwyth in the Premier Cup and Llandyrnog in the Welsh Cup – and the aim is to win all three.

“Caersws will be difficult opponents because even though they are still looking for their first league win, they caused a surprise by holding full-timers Llanelli in a 1-1 draw at their own ground last weekend.

“For our part, we were unfortunate to lose 2-1 at Aberystwyth on Saturday when we had 60 per cent of the play and were punished for a couple of mistakes.”

City’s squad news is that Lee Webber has reported fit after a knee injury forced him to miss two games, and he will slot in for Peter Hoy, who has a one-match ban.

Webber will partner ex-Tranmere Rovers starlet Mike Johnston in the heart of the defence.

Chris Sergeant picked up an ankle injury in midweek training and is doubtful, while another midfielder Craig Hutchinson is again a non-starter.

Caersws, meanwhile, head to Farrar Road looking to maintain their revival, writes John Bridgwater.

Without a point from their first five outings, the Bluebirds have rallied with two creditable 1-1 draws against Aberystwyth and high-flying Llanelli in their last two matches.

As well as the points, the performances have given cause for optimism, but manager Mike Barton admits there is a long way to go.

“Hopefully things are looking up, but we’re not getting carried away,” he said.

“Bangor will be a tough game, but if we show the same kind of attitude that we did in our last two games, then we’re capable of picking up something.

“In the last two games, we’ve limited our mistakes and look a decent side going forward. The players we’ve brought in have made a difference.

“We’re heading in the right direction, but we still haven’t won in the league this season. The sooner we do that the better.”

Striker Graham Evans should be fit after suffering a hamstring injury, while midfielder Steve Towers is doubtful with a similar problem.
