CHESHIRE West and Chester Council will be supporting the third Eid ul Adha celebration to take place in Ellesmere Port.

The Muslim Festival of Sacrifice marks the end of Hajj and commemorates the prophet Abraham's faith when he was asked to sacrifice his son Ishmael.

‘Eid @ the Civic’ is being held on Sunday, November 4 from 2-5pm at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall with all welcome to come along.

The festival will include delicious food, activities for children, information stalls, bazaar and exhibitions.

Food will cost £1 for three items from a banquet of 20 choices and activities only cost 50p.

The event has been organised by the Eid Team which this year consists of West Cheshire Multi Cultural Women's Group, the Cheshire Asian and Minority Community Council, Ellesmere Port West Cheshire Multicultural Association, Ellesmere Port Turkish Association and Healthy Living Centre, Ellesmere Port.

Visitors will be able to buy Islamic clothes, women can have henna applied to their hands and have a massage treatment.

All proceeds from the event will go to various local and international charities.
