IT’S not every day a multi-millionaire drops in and passes on some advice.
But legendary fashion guru George Davies, in Wrexham yesterday to officially open Per Una at the new Eagles Meadow Marks and Spencer, did just that when he called at Wrexham FC’s official shop next to the Racecourse.
Liverpool-born Davies, 67, the man who built fashion empires George at Asda, Next and Per Una at M&S, spent time chatting to Wrexham owner Geoff Moss and Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry.
“He was in Wrexham for the official opening of Per Una and he needed somewhere to land his helicopter,” said Mr Moss.
“He has a strong connection with Liverpool and knows about our connection so he asked if he could land his helicopter here. He popped into the shop and gave us loads of advice and ideas on what to do to make the shop more commercial.”
The man listed as having a personal fortune of £120m was picked up by his helicopter at Wrexham’s Colliers Park training ground right next to the pitch where a Dragons reserve side was having a training match with an Everton side.
