The double world champion and current Moto GP superstar has confirmed he will be meeting fans and taking part in the cavalcade of the unique Thundersprint event that takes over the town centre in May next year.

Toseland, who rides for the Yamaha factory-supported Tech 3 team, said: "I’m really looking forward to taking part in the Thundersprint for the first time. I’ve heard such a lot about it but I’ve never had the pleasure of being involved."

Aside from showing off his skills on two wheels and meeting the expected hordes of ‘JT’ fans, Toseland will also be starring with his band Crash at Northwich Memorial Hall the night before Thundersprint begins.

Event organiser Frank Melling is delighted with the thought of having Toseland on board at the Northwich petrol-fuelled showcase.

He said: "We have been very fortunate to have some of the very finest motorcycle racers in the world take part in the Thundersprint, but to have one of the current superstars of racing with us will be brilliant."
