IT’S out with the old and in with the new for the Chronicle in cyberspace.

Today sees the start of a new chapter in the history of the Wrexham Chronicle online with the launch of a new-look website.

The site, which has the same address, www.wrexhamchronicle.co.uk, is still the best place on the internet to get all the latest breaking news and sport from in and around Wrexham.

There will be more videos and pictures, leisure and entertainment news, views and opinions – and visitors can still sign up for our fantastic free e-Edition of the Wrexham Chronicle.

While our modern new design is the most obvious change, there are plenty of improvements under the hood as well to make the site interactive and easy to use.

New features include a “most popular stories” panel on the homepage, allowing you to drive the news agenda.

You can also comment on key stories and air your views in improved forums.

Lists of “related articles” next to our news and sports stories help you find what you want with the minimum of fuss.

Chronicle editor Kevin Hughes said: “Since its launch earlier this year, wrexhamchronicle.co.uk has proved hugely popular with our readers at home and abroad, as well as anyone else who wants to keep in touch with what’s happening in Wrexham.

“The old website served us well, but the internet continues to make rapid advances and we have to move with the times.

“We need to ensure the service we provide online is as accessible, comprehensive and interactive as possible.”

As well as our outstanding news, sport and entertainment sections, new blogs have been created covering nostalgia, quirky news and environmental issues.

And don’t forget, you’ll be able to search for jobs, homes and cars, items to buy and sell and even your dream date.
