A LABOUR Party stalwart who has supported the party through thick and thin is celebrating half a century of service.
Moira Cokayne, 87, has been presented with a certificate to mark her 50-year party membership.
Mrs Cokayne, of Mountain View, Hope, is a member of Hope and Caergwrle Labour Party and has played a role in national and local election campaigns.
She said: 'I have done everything from stuffing leaflets in envelopes to canvassing door-to-door.
'The party has had its ups and downs, but I'm still a die-hard Labour supporter.
'I follow politics very closely and especially enjoy Question Time on the TV.
'I will do my bit during the next election campaign, but obviously my age will limit what I can do.'
Mrs Cokayne, whose husband Ron died a couple of years ago, has been a member of Hope Community Council for 22 years.
She is a member of Penyffordd Presbyterian Church and has three children, Teddy, June and Christine, and 15 grandchildren.
