THE Garage bar just before town bridge in Northwich has had its late licence revoked because of complaints from residents (Chronicle, Nov 12).

The bar was up-and-running well before planners allowed an old people’s home to be built right next to it.

Anyone viewing the property before buying would have seen there was a bar next door.

The residents knew that there was a bar open there before they moved in. What happens? They all move in and start whinging and moaning because they don’t want a bar next door to them. Why move there then?

What has been the cost of reviewing all the complaints and coming to this decision?

Taking the late licence away will not stop the general noise problem. You’ll still have all the noise from people walking home from the town centre.

If the residents wanted peace and quiet, they should have moved somewhere else.
