DEDICATED student Thea Braniff is dancing with joy after fighting off stiff competition and landing a place at the Northern Ballet School.
The 17-year-old went up against more than 250 other young hopefuls at auditions in December and was one of only 40 invited to join.
Thea is currently studying for a National Diploma in Dance at Mid-Cheshire College’s Hartford campus.
Her teacher, Tina Norcup, said: “Thea has a real talent and we’re so proud of her achievement. It’s all testament to her hard work and dedication.”
Thea, who began dancing at just two years old, said: “Other colleges offer similar courses but I chose Mid-Cheshire College as I felt they could support my aspirations to become a professional dancer.
“I considered studying an A-Level in Performing Arts but that would have just been for three hours a week, whereas a National Diploma allows me to dedicate all of my studies to dance.”
