RETIRED servicemen from across the country turned out in force for a memorial ceremony in Wirral.

A plaque commemorating people who trained, worked or were civilians at the West Kirby camp was erected in Saughall Massie Road by the RAF (West Kirby) Association.

More than 100 people turned out for the two-day event, including deputy mayor Cllr Hilary Jones and Squadron Leader Andy Boult from RAF Sealand

The ceremony was marked by a fly-past from RAF Woodvale.
