BOROUGH mayor Keith Butcher marched on down to the Cheshire Army Cadet Force’s annual camp.
He was joined by other mayors at the Barry Buddon Training Camp in Scotland, where they toured the facility, met the cadets, some of whom are from Ellesmere Port and Neston, and saw them in action.
Cllr Butcher said that, with so much bad press about young people, it was nice to see these good citizens putting something back into the community.
He also praised the adult volunteers who give up their free time to help out.
During the two-week camp, cadets take part in activities such as adventurous training, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, military and survival skills.
Cheshire Army Cadet Force is a youth organisation based on a military theme. There are detachments all across Cheshire, including Ellesmere Port and Neston.
