FAN SCENE: TO coin a brand new phrase here: Football is a funny old game."
Just two weeks ago I was extolling the value of League Two football.
I mean, a trip to Barnet couldn't be that bad.
I'd never been. I believed relegation was a certainty when we couldn't beat MK Dons, but then Denis Smith's men go and prove me wrong.
Three wins in a week and because other results went for us we're now just three points from safety. And bang in form.
Yes, Saturday's win was fortunate, the Latics had the better of the chances, but then Hector Sam managed to dive in and put our league season back on track.
Swindon away may seem hard on paper, but we are set up to play well away from home.
Now Carlos Edwards is back we have real pace again which scares the opposition and Juan Ugarte loves the space afforded to him away from the Racecourse. All this and the little matter of Cardiff, but while two cup victories would be fantastic, relegation as well would make it a crazy season.
Off the pitch things are just as crazy as usual with Pryce Griffiths getting some stick because of his apparent reluctance to let the sale of the club go through without a £500,000 redevelopment bonus.
Now I hated the criticism the ex-Chairman took when the real Alex Hamilton was revealed.
People said he sold us down the river, but I don't agree.
It's very rare for a football chairman to genuinely love the club but I'm sure Pryce does.
You only need to see him before and after games to know that.
It was the right time for Pryce to sell, he couldn't have gone on as club chairman much longer.
It just saddens me that everyone seems to be wanting to make money off this club.
Ever heard the one about the golden goose...
