WREXHAM Labour MP Ian Lucas has brought a leading Welsh Minister to Wrexham to meet business leaders.
Under Secretary of State for Wales, Wayne David, met business representatives at Wrexham Industrial Estate at a specially-arranged summit.
The meeting allowed local businesses to share their concerns with Mr David and to have those concerns relayed directly to the Government.
Mr Lucas said: “We have much to be proud of in Wrexham and businesses on the industrial estate are no exception.
“Many of these businesses are award-winning and leaders in their field. I wanted to bring Wayne so he could find out more about the quality of businesses we have in Wrexham for himself.
“It’s all very well to talk in the abstract but it is vitally important Government Ministers understand the reality of what is happening on the ground.
“The businessmen and women who were at the seminar really underlined how serious the situation is and how urgently action is needed.
“As we made clear, those concerns will now be stressed directly to those in the Government who are working on ways to help businesses such as the ones we heard from today.”
