MASCOTS from across the region will be descending on the Blue Planet Aquarium this weekend to celebrate Charlie the Clownfish’s birthday.

The cuddly character is celebrating his second birthday and to mark the occasion, he has invited a dozen other mascots to his party – who will also be attempting to set a new conga dancing record.

They will be joining the attempt through the aquarium’s underwater walk-through tunnel and organiser Paul Renolds is hoping for plenty of support from the visitors.

“We’re hoping younger visitors will get involved and join in,” he said.

“As well as the conga record bid there will be party games, competitions, music, dancing and the chance to take part in meet and greet sessions with the mascots.

“There will also be a special Charlie’s Birthday Party Show in the aquarium’s Aquatheatre,” he added.

The fun is set to continue on Sunday, August 8, when Dee 106 Breakfast Host Gavin Matthews will be broadcasting live from the aquarium.
