A SHOP assistant scooped some top prizes in Nightingale House Hospice’s Ladies Midnight Walk.

Marie Jones, 29, of Hightown, won a year’s membership at RPM Fitness Studio, four hours of personal training plus a free fitness outfit from JJB Sports, Plas Coch, Wrexham.

Marie took part in the fundraiser with 1,800 other women on Saturday, June 28.

To date the walk has raised more than £55,000 and the hospice hopes to beat last year’s total of £100,000.

“I took part in the walk because my father was looked after by the hospice in 2005. My mother and sister also joined me,” said Marie. “I was really pleased about winning the prizes because I am planning to enter the Chester half marathon next year!”

Caroline Siddall, income generation manager at the hospice, said: “Marie is a great example of how individuals can help to ensure we continue to provide our services.

“We are also very grateful to RPM Fitness Studio and JJB Sports for donating these prizes and helping us make this fundraising event our most successful to date!”
