A MAN has had to have surgery on a serious facial injury after being attacked in a taxi queue outside an Ellesmere Port nightclub.
The 23-year-old victim was assaulted along with two of his friends, who are both the same age, outside Destiny and Elite in Coliseum Way at about 3am on Sunday.
One of the trio had got into a taxi but before his friends could join him, two men attacked him and tried to drag him from the car.
His two friends managed to get him away from the men, but then a group of six other males joined in the assault.
The three victims are all from Ellesmere Port.
Cheshire police spokeswoman Jo Preihs said: “There was a large number of people in the vicinity of Coliseum Way when this incident took place and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them, particularly anyone who was waiting in the taxi queue.”
The first man who carried out the attack while one of the victims was getting into the taxi is described as being 5ft 10ins tall, of skinny build, wearing a white, roundnecked T-shirt and dark denim jeans.
He had short, dark hair and was aged in his late teens or early 20s.
His accomplice is described as being 5ft 8ins tall, of slim-medium build, wearing a dark V-necked purple jumper and pale denim jeans.
He had short spiky blonde hair and was about the same age.
The descriptions of the six other offenders are unknown.
