A 37-YEAR-old man lost the sight in his eye following a serious assault in Ellesmere Port.

Police have issued CCTV of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident at Costcutter, Pooltown Road at 10.55pm on Wednesday November 17.

The victim got involved in an argument with a man who punched him in the eye and then kicked him a number of times in the stomach. The offender then ran off.

The victim suffered a laceration to his eye which he can no longer see out of.

The offender is described as white, aged late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 11in to 6ft tall of stocky muscular build.

He had short light brown to blondish hair, sandy stubble and a pale complexion with a three inch scar on his left cheek.

Detective Constable Neil Doleman from Ellesmere Port CID said: “This was a nasty assault that has resulted in the victim losing the sight in his left eye. I am appealing to anyone that recognises the two men in the CCTV stills to contact me so I can speak to them as part of my investigation.

“Alternatively I would appeal directly to the men themselves to come forward.”
